For a few years now, I have wanted to learn Italian and tried different methods. I tried duolingo, but found there was no explanation behind grammar topics. I tried Rosetta Stone, but found the lessons were too repetitive once I grasped a concept. Overall, all the methods I trialled did not test my ability to speak or listen to the language.

Last year, I began lessons with Luciana and have loved learning the Italian language tailored to my learning style. Luciana is the most wonderful teacher I have ever had the pleasure of working with. As soon as you meet her, she is very warm and bubbly, which definitely helps me overcome my shyness when speaking in Italian! Luciana teaches you how to speak, write, and listen in Italian.

Her lessons are comprehensive and include cultural aspects of Italy. I love this way of teaching as you learn vocabulary and grammar of the language in a very relevant context, as well as feeling like you are being transported to Italy!

The best thing about Luciana, is her dedication and patience. Learning a new language is tough, but Luciana is definitely attentive to areas I have difficulty with. She makes sure I understand a new topic fully before we move on and encourages me to ask any and all questions if I am confused.

In addition, in her own time outside of the lesson, she will source additional practice for me to do until I am confident in every topic she has taught. I have never met a teacher with as much dedication to their students. I have loved learning with Luciana and am looking forward to becoming an advanced Italian speaker thanks to her!

Rules and rhythms are explained and what seems insurmountable suddenly makes perfect sense.
